Salary: £25,217 – £29,176 per annum

Full-time, permanent appointment

Based in Liverpool

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled IT Developer to be responsible for developing projects from project plan stage to completion.  This post is part of the development team within IT Services, which build and deploy complex applications a variety of programming tools.

The successful applicant will take responsibility for continued development of the organisation’s share point environment, maintain API developed by the school to transfer data between core systems, and develop and maintain the schools FlowForma document workflow system.

Key Responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  • To respond to user requirements and develop solutions as defined by the Head of IT
  • To produce appropriate reports and documentation which may include systems specifications, user instructions and manuals, training documentation and project reports
  • To manage projects including advising project owners on technical feasibility, establishing requirements, allocating tasks according to the skills available within the project team, overseeing the work of others and reporting back progress to the team and department managers
  • To make use of advanced web development techniques including C#, T-SQL, MySQL,

REST API, Visual Basic, PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript in the creation of web sites and services.

  • To contribute towards project plans for activities, undertake workstream activities and liaise with peer and supervisory team members
  • To contribute towards medium and long term coordinated planning based on LSTM’s objectives to keep the organisation up to date with developments in ICT
  • To assist with the implementation of major developments of the IT service
  • To create data bases and coding using SQL

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Educated to degree level or to have relevant professional work experience
  • Significant and current working experience in a development role with demonstrably knowledge of HTML5 .NET, C#, Visual Basic, JavaScript, web usability and web accessibility
  • Experience in the use of object orientated programming
  • Experience of web and database server administration
  • Experience of using web APIs to integrate systems
  • Experience of supporting websites including problem solving and responding to stakeholder and customer requests
  • An understanding of Active Directory and its functions
  • Knowledge of SharePoint
  • Systems development life cycle
  • Excellent working knowledge of Visual Studio
  • Understanding of the importance of high-quality code and systems architecture
